Beach Flags: Choosing the Right Shape, Size and Base

A beach flag can mark an entrance, identify a stand or carry a short campaign message outside a shop. Start with where it will stand and how people will approach it. Then match the graphic, pole and base as one system. Browse Nordsign’s flags and beach flags to compare the available configurations.

Choose the shape around your message

A feather shape suits a vertical logo or short headline. A drop shape offers a rounded outline, while a square flag gives a more rectangular graphic area. Do not transfer the same artwork between shapes without adapting it: curved edges and pole sleeves change the usable space. Compare the Standard Feather, Standard Drop and Standard Square models, then use the template for the selected size.

Separate print size from display height

Flag dimensions, pole length and assembled display height describe different things. A size name such as S or M is not a common measurement across all models. Check the model’s dimension table rather than estimating from a photograph. Allow clearance above the flag, space around the base and a clear route for customers, staff or event visitors.

Single-sided or double-sided printing?

Single-sided means the graphic is printed on one face. If your message needs print on both faces, choose a double-sided model and confirm the artwork orientation. The construction varies between ranges; the same pole and base should not be assumed suitable for both. See the Premium double-sided Feather flag for a specific double-sided option.

Nordsign’s listed single-sided Standard and Premium flags use 110 g/m² flag polyester, but their poles and dimensions differ. Choose the complete configuration rather than treating all textile flags as interchangeable.

Match the base to the ground and the flag

A shop floor, paved forecourt and soft ground require different fixing arrangements. Tell us the surface, exposure, flag size and whether people will walk close to it. Included accessories depend on the selected model and size; a larger or double-sided print may need a different setup.

Compare beach flag accessories and accessories for double-sided flags. An indoor/outdoor designation is not a wind-speed rating. Ask us to confirm a suitable arrangement and follow the selected system’s instructions; remove the display when conditions are unsuitable.

Prepare a readable graphic and the correct artwork

Use one main message, a clear logo and enough contrast for the viewing distance. Keep important text away from the sleeve, seams and shaped edges. Before ordering beach flag printing, download the selected model-and-size template and review our print-file requirements. Confirm safe areas, finishing and any special colour requirements before approving production.

Ordering a replacement print

A replacement textile can refresh a campaign while retaining compatible hardware. Send the existing flag’s model, size and pole reference, together with photographs if identification is uncertain. Confirm sleeve and tensioning details before making the artwork. Similar-looking flags from different suppliers are not automatically compatible; we will check the fit before quoting.
