Exhibiting in France: venues and stand planning
Planning a trade fair in France? Start with the event, your stand plan and the message visitors should remember. A reusable textile wall, a compact counter or a roll-up may each have a place, but the right combination depends on the space and the way your team will work.
This guide brings together selected French exhibition venues, examples of trade shows and a practical brief for choosing printed displays. It is a starting point for exhibitors, sign companies and teams preparing graphics for a client.
Selected exhibition venues in France
This guide includes a selection of exhibition venues. Follow each operator's link for current site information, and use the event organiser's exhibitor manual for the rules that apply to your booking.
- Paris Nord Villepinte, Paris region. A major exhibition centre for professional events. Official venue information from Viparis.
- Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, Paris. An exhibition venue within Paris. Official spaces and venue information from Viparis.
- Eurexpo Lyon, Chassieu. An exhibition venue in the Lyon area. Official venue information from GL events.
- Lille Grand Palais, Lille. A venue combining exhibition and congress spaces. Official venue overview.
- Parc des Expositions de Nantes, Beaujoire. The exhibition park operated by Exponantes in Nantes. Official access and site information.

Examples of French trade shows
The audience helps determine what a stand needs to communicate. Three examples to explore are:
- C!Print Lyon at Eurexpo: printing, visual communication and personalisation. Organiser's practical information.
- Maison&Objet Paris at Paris Nord Villepinte: decoration, design and lifestyle. Organiser's event information.
- EquipHotel at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles: hospitality and restaurant professionals. Organiser's practical information.
Check the organiser's current edition before planning production. Dates, hall allocations and installation arrangements can change.
Choose displays around the stand
A clear backdrop
Use the stand drawing to identify the available graphic area, open sides and positions where visitors first see your message. Compare exhibition display systems around the required visual size, floor space, assembly and the way you will transport them. Keep the main message clear at a distance, then reserve supporting detail for closer conversations.
A place for conversations and demonstrations
A counter, podium or table can create a meeting point. Consider where your team will stand and where samples, literature or demonstration equipment will go. Specify whether you need the complete system, a replacement graphic or an individual component when requesting advice.
Portable messages and repeat use
Roll-up banners can provide separate messages within the stand. Plan their positions alongside the main backdrop so the displays work together. If you already own frames or hardware, include the model and part number before ordering replacement graphics; the visible area alone may not identify the correct template or finishing.
A useful brief for your next exhibition
- Event and location: show name, venue, hall and stand number.
- Space: a drawing with width, depth, permitted height and open sides.
- Purpose: the main message, products to demonstrate and expected use after the event.
- Existing equipment: photographs, model names and part numbers, plus a list of new systems, components or replacement graphics required.
- Files: artwork status and the template for the exact configuration. Review our print-file requirements before preparing final files.
- Timing and handling: your required delivery date, organiser's reception arrangements, assembly plan and transport limits.
Ask the organiser which height, electrical, hanging and material-documentation requirements apply to your particular stand. Marseille Chanot, for example, directs exhibitors to their event's dedicated exhibitor guide for installation and delivery arrangements: see its exhibitor information.
